Donna Vekic dominated the match against Rebeka Masarova, who was starting for Spain and who was born in Switzerland and also has both citizenships, from the start and won 6:2, 6:1 in 75 minutes.

The newly crowned Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz still wanted to end the tournament with a flawless individual record and, after his hard-fought opening win against Belgian David Goffin, also beat Borna Coric after almost two hours 6: 3, 6: 7 (6), 10: 5.

In the final mixed, the decision was also made in the match tiebreak, in which the Croatian duo Vekic/Coric had the upper hand with 1:6, 6:4, 14:12.

Switzerland fixed their place in the final yesterday

As early as Friday, Switzerland was the first team to take part in the final on Sunday. The 21-year-old Leandro Riedi, who was involved in every match point for the Confederates, played a particularly large part in this. In the first match against Denmark, he defeated the somewhat ailing top 10 player Holger Rune in singles and was thus able to equalize the smooth defeat of his compatriot Celine Naef against Clara Tauson. Against France, he fought off Richard Gasquet to a 10-8 match tiebreak victory, equalizing the loss of just 18-year-old Naef, who lost to Alize Cornet by the same match tiebreak result. The young Swiss duo was able to decide both encounters in their favor with successes in mixed.
